Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American photographer and journalist who has worked as a journalist for more than 45 years, focusing on human suffering in areas of conflict and natural disasters. Curry reported on wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Curry graduated from high school in 1978 and earned an undergraduate degree in journalism at the University of Oregon. She later became the first female news reporter at KTVL at just 22 years old. In the following years, she moved into the role of anchor and reporter at KGW the NBC affiliate station located in Portland. After four years, she moved to Los Angeles as a reporter for KBS-TV. During her time with this station for six years that she received two Emmy Awards.
